News Topical, Digital Desk : Police have achieved a major breakthrough in the theft case that occurred a few days ago at the Louvre Museum in Paris, the capital of France. Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of precious jewelry from the Louvre Museum. However, the identities of the arrested suspects have not yet been revealed by the police.

Police detained one suspect in the Louvre theft case at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport on Saturday night as he was about to board a flight abroad, while the other was arrested shortly afterwards in Paris.

The thieves broke into the museum shortly after it opened through an upper-floor window and stole eight precious gems worth an estimated $102 million. They then fled on motorcycles, sparking a massive manhunt across France.

Photos go viral

Shortly after the Louvre theft, Paris-based Associated Press photographer Thibault Camus spotted a smartly dressed young man walking past uniformed French police officers. He took a photo. However, it wasn't a particularly good shot because someone's shoulder obscured part of the foreground. The photos quickly went viral on social media.
