Shravan is that mirror in which the soul can see itself in the form of Shiva. It is the name of that divinity lying dormant within the soul, which can be awakened only by faith, penance and dedication.

Shravan is the time of that awakening. In Shravan, not only abhishek takes place, but the inner impurities are also washed away. This is the moment when the veil of 'I' is removed and only 'Shiva' remains.
