There is no doubt that Randeep Hooda is one of the best actors in Bollywood. His acting skills are matchless. But still he is seen less on screen like other better actors or we can say that he does not get as many film offers. Randeep believes that his career growth has slowed down because of his arrogance.
Randeep Hooda has been active in the film industry for the last 24 years. He started his acting career in the year 2001 with Monsoon Wedding. After this, he gave many excellent films. But in the meantime, he also rejected many films, one of which was Aamir Khan's blockbuster movie.
Randeep was offered Rang De Basanti
Very few people know that Aamir Khan starrer film Rang De Basanti was first offered to Randeep Hooda. Rakesh Omprakash Mehra had first offered the role of Karan Singhania aka Bhagat Singh (Siddharth) in the film to Randeep Hooda. But the Jat actor refused to play a small role in this film.
In a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Randeep Hooda was asked if he ever lost a film because of his arrogance. To this the actor said, "If I had done that film, I would have been in a different league. I was offered the role of Bhagat Singh in the film. I auditioned and they liked it. Rakesh Omprakash Mehra used to come to me sometimes while driving drunk and tell me, 'Do it, do the picture'."
That's why the film was rejected
Randeep Hooda says that at that time he knew two people in the industry, one was Ram Gopal Varma and the other was his girlfriend. His girlfriend had refused to let him do a small role in the film. Then Ram Gopal Varma also refused to do it. Regarding this, Randeep said, “RGV (Ram Gopal Varma) told me, 'I am thinking of casting you in the lead role in D and you want to stand behind Aamir in the poster?'”
Farhan's film also lost due to his arrogance
Randeep Hooda said, "My Jat arrogance came out and I said, 'I will not stand behind Aamir.' That's what happened, and I left Rock On for similar reasons. I have always worked with slightly different filmmakers and producers, not industry insiders. Maybe that's why my growth has been slow. I used to think that I am enough and this art is everything but it is not so."
