News Topical, Digital Desk : A Pakistan-linked network has links to global arms trafficking, according to a report. It claims the network extends from India and Afghanistan, further transferring Iranian weapons to Yemen's Houthis, to the wider black markets in West Asia and Africa.

Citing investigative reports and official allegations in the US and Europe, it said Pakistani nationals are involved in the illegal export of anti-aircraft ammunition and drone technology.

The recent 40-year prison sentence handed down by a US court to Pakistani national Muhammad Pehlwan for smuggling Iranian weapons to Houthi rebels highlights the continued involvement of Pakistani elements in international arms trafficking and criminal activities, reports Asian News Post. Pehlwan's sentencing is not an isolated incident, but rather a manifestation of a broader trend.

The US Justice Department revealed that Pehlivan operated a fishing vessel used to transfer Iranian ballistic missile components, anti-ship missile parts, and warheads to Houthi rebels.

Two US Navy SEALs were killed during the operation. The report said historical investigations have established the role of Pakistan's ISI and military-backed syndicates, including providing weapons to foreign proxies and managing lucrative smuggling chains for profit and strategic influence.
