News Topical, Digital Desk : Amid the ongoing conflict in Iran, the Indian government has accelerated the work of bringing back its citizens safely under 'Operation Sindhu'. On Sunday night, another special flight brought 285 Indian citizens to India, taking the total number of Indians evacuated safely to 1,713 so far.

285 citizens reached Delhi

The special flight from Mashhad, Iran landed at New Delhi airport at 11:30 pm on Sunday. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Pabitra Margherita herself welcomed the Indian citizens at the airport. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) posted on Twitter that this was the eighth flight so far under Operation Sindhu.

A total of 596 citizens arrived in two flights in a day

Earlier on Sunday, a flight carrying 311 Indian citizens had reached New Delhi. This flight had arrived from Mashhad at 4:30 pm. Thus, a total of 596 Indians were brought back safely on Sunday itself.
