News Topical, Digital Desk : Former Army Chief General (retd) JJ Singh on Tuesday said the Indian Army is preparing to fight and win the next war.

He stressed that future warfare will be fought across multiple domains: land, air, sea, space, cyberspace, and the cognitive domain. We are preparing for that.

"I think this book contains detailed accounts of all the challenges that India is facing in its neighbourhood. It also explains the kind of turmoil that is going on around the world," General Singh said on the sidelines of a function to release a compilation of various articles by defence and strategic experts.

He said it covers all dimensions of national security challenges, not just the military domain, but also the economic domain, the space domain, and other dimensions of warfare.

When asked how the Indian Army should be prepared for any future war, General Singh said, "The Indian Army is preparing for the next war... that war will probably start from space. We need to improve our space infrastructure and the country is engaged in that process."

Former Army Chief General (Retd) Manoj Pandey had said at an event here in March that the Indian armed forces should be able to deal with current security threats and anticipate future challenges.

They should also develop capabilities that will enable them to fight future wars effectively.
