When is Nirjala Ekadashi celebrated?
Nirjala Ekadashi is celebrated every year on the next day of Dashami of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. The fast is observed on the next day i.e. Dwadashi Tithi. In this fast, Nirjala fast is observed. During the fast, food and water are not consumed from sunrise of Ekadashi Tithi to sunrise of Dwadashi Tithi. Consumption of food and water is prohibited during Nirjala Ekadashi.
When is Nirjala Ekadashi?
According to the Vedic calendar, the Ekadashi date of the Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month will start at 02:15 am on June 06. Nirjala Ekadashi will be celebrated on June 06 as per the English calendar. Whereas, in Sanatan Dharma, the date is calculated from Udaya i.e. sunrise. Hence, Nirjala Ekadashi is on June 06. However, Vaishnav people will celebrate Nirjala Ekadashi on June 07.

Importance of Nirjala Ekadashi
Nirjala Ekadashi has special importance in Sanatan Dharma. By observing this fast, the seeker (person) gets a long life. At the same time, the seeker attains salvation after death. Nirjala Ekadashi is the best among all Ekadashis. Consuming water during the fast is completely prohibited. This fast is also called Bhimseni Ekadashi. Nirjala Ekadashi is celebrated a day after Ganga Dussehra. On this auspicious occasion, seekers keep fast at their homes and worship Lakshmi Narayan ji. At the same time, special worship and aarti of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Mother Lakshmi is done in temples.

On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, there is a combination of Bhadravas and Variyan yoga. Along with this, Hasta and Chitra nakshatras are also being formed. At the same time, there is also the yoga of Abhijit Muhurta and Vanij Karan.
Method of worshiping Nirjala Ekadashi
The rules of Ekadashi fast start from Dashami Tithi. Therefore, on Dashami Tithi, after retiring from the daily household chores, take bath and meditate. The seeker should take bath with Gangajal mixed water. After this, take a sip of water and take a pledge of Ekadashi fast. After this, wear yellow clothes and offer water to Sun God. Now worship Lakshmi Narayan Ji with devotion. Eat satvik food on Dashami Tithi. Also, follow the rules of celibacy. Do not have any animosity towards anyone and do not hurt anyone. Next day i.e. on Ekadashi Tithi, wake up in Brahma hour. At this time, meditate on Lakshmi Narayan Ji and bow to him. Recite the following mantra at this time.

Now clean the house. After finishing your daily chores, take a bath with Gangajal mixed in it. During this time, take water in your palm and sip water. Recite the following mantra while sip water.

Om Hrishikeshaya Namah,
Finally wipe your face with your thumb and recite the mantra 'Om Govindaya Namah'. Now wear yellow clothes and offer water to the Sun God. Recite the following mantra while offering water to the Sun God.
