New Delhi: The Supreme Court will on Thursday hear the bail pleas of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in which he has challenged his arrest by the CBI in the Delhi Excise Policy scam.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan will hear the matter. On August 23, the apex court had allowed the CBI to file a counter affidavit in the case and had given Kejriwal two days to file his reply.
Delhi High Court's August 5 order challenged
Kejriwal has filed two separate petitions against the denial of bail and his arrest by the CBI in the case. He has challenged the Delhi High Court's August 5 order which upheld his arrest.
Kejriwal denied interim bail
The AAP chief was arrested by the CBI on June 26. On August 14, the apex court had refused to grant interim bail to Kejriwal in the case and sought the probe agency's response on his plea challenging his arrest.
