News Topical, Digital Desk : Punjab News: Important news is emerging for schools in Punjab, creating a stir among teachers. The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has begun preparations for the annual examinations for grades 10 and 12, scheduled for March 2026. The board has uploaded complete information about exam centers, allocated banks, and answer sheet collection centers to the login IDs of all schools across the state.
Guidelines issued by the board
According to the board's guidelines, the head of the school where the examination center is set up will assume full responsibility as the "center controller." They will be responsible for everything from the security of question papers during the exam to the delivery of answer sheets to the collection center. If any school head has any objections or concerns about the examination centers assigned to them, they should submit their application to the District Education Officer (Secondary) by December 10. The issue will be resolved at the main office only after the District Education Officer has selected and approved three schools.
Strict on board communication arrangements
This time, the Board has taken special care with communication arrangements and learned from past experiences. It's often observed that the Board only has old school phone numbers on file, or that principals often don't answer the phone, causing significant difficulties during exam emergencies. To address this communication gap, the Board has mandated that school login IDs include the principal's mobile number in column 1 and the most senior lecturer or teacher's mobile number in column 2.
The board's goal is to ensure that if the principal is unavailable for any reason, another responsible official can be contacted immediately. All school heads have been instructed to complete these updates and procedures by December 10th to ensure the smooth conduct of the March 2026 examinations.
