News Topical, Digital Desk : According to the Hindu calendar, Mokshada Ekadashi is celebrated on the Ekadashi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) of the month of Margashirsha. This Ekadashi is considered highly auspicious because it was on this day that Lord Krishna preached the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna. Therefore, this day is also celebrated as Geeta Jayanti. This year, Mokshada Ekadashi (Mokshada Ekadashi 2025) and Geeta Jayanti are being celebrated today, i.e., December 1st. So, let's explore the key points associated with this day, which are as follows:
Puja Rituals
- Wake up in the morning during Brahma Muhurta and take a bath in a holy river or at home with water mixed with Ganga water.
- Wear yellow clothes.
- Install the idols of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna at the place of worship.
- Take a vow of fasting by holding water, flowers and rice in your hand and pray for salvation and happiness and prosperity in your mind.
- Bathe Lord Shri Krishna and Shri Hari with Panchamrit.
- After this, offer them yellow clothes, incense, lamp, basil leaves, fruits and sweets.
- Recite the story of Mokshada Ekadashi and the Srimad Bhagavad Gita.
- Perform Aarti at the end.
- Apologize for any mistakes made during the puja.

Lord Vishnu is very fond of the lotus flower. You can also offer him yellow and red flowers like roses, hibiscus, and marigolds. Also, be sure to use basil leaves during your puja.

Satvik offerings are prepared on Ekadashi. You can offer items like panjiri, saffron pudding, panchamrit, bananas, cucumbers, and oranges. Furthermore, butter, basil leaves, sugar candy, nuts, and yellow sweets are also offered to Lord Krishna on this day.

- Donation of Gita - To attain salvation, donate a new book of Gita with devotion to a temple, a worthy Brahmin, or a student.
