News Topical, Digital Desk : Adult comedies are rarely made in Hindi cinema. There could be many reasons for this, but making them isn't easy, as there's a fine line between being funny and being vulgar, one that shouldn't be crossed. Released in 2004, Masti was a popular hit in this genre. The franchise was subsequently expanded with Grand Masti and Great Grand Masti. Now, Masti 4 (Mastiii 4 Review) is out.
Three friends trapped in the love visa scam
The story then revolves around three friends, Meet ( Vivek Oberoi ), Amar (Riteish Deshmukh), and Prem (Aftab Shivdasani), who are unhappy with their wives. Their friend, Kamaraj (Arshad Warsi), tells them that his wife gives him a love visa, allowing him to spend time with any woman. The three ask their wives for a love visa, which they receive. When they return, their wives also ask for a love visa and leave for vacation. The rest of the story will have to be watched.
Women have been made to do stupid things
Milap has previously written the story of Masti (Mastii 4 Cast) and Grand Masti along with Tushar Hiranandani. He was familiar with this world, yet he has failed in making this adult comedy. There is no story, no screenplay, no memorable song, no dialogue. Milap had said that Masti 4 will be like the first Masti. This is true in terms of the story, because in terms of situations the film is exactly like the first Masti. But there is no fun like the first Masti in the film. The comedy is vulgar. The female characters are only there to wear bikinis and do stupid things.
The female character's dialogue, which states that she lives alone and takes the I-Pill (emergency contraceptive pill) every morning, or the girls' remark, "Let her die if she wants to..." raises questions about Milap and Farukh Dhondy's writing: whether such dialogue, in the name of comedy, will actually make people laugh. The way Aftab and Ritesh's scene in the horse's skin was shot, today's kids can do better with their phones.
Was there no need for Arshad Warsi in the film?
Speaking of acting, among Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Aftab Shivdasani, only Riteish can make us laugh a little. It's better not to ask why Arshad Warsi and Nargis Fakhri are in the film. The other three main actresses struggle to speak Hindi. Tusshar Kapoor, playing a Bihar police officer, neither grasps the local dialect nor can he make us laugh. Were there any songs in the film? I don't remember them after leaving the theatre.
