Study done on 4,200 people from 34 countries
Let us tell you that research has been done on more than 4,200 people from 34 countries. This included office workers from countries like America, farmers, shepherds and hunters living in the forests. The research found that no matter how active someone is or whether they work sitting completely, everyone's speed of burning calories is almost the same.
Diet is responsible for weight gain
This means that people are not becoming fat only due to lack of exercise . Rather, our food habits are equally responsible. Research has shown that whenever a country progresses, the people there start getting more food items. So people start eating more than required and junk food. At this time, people are preferring fast food and packed food items more. These habits of people are gradually making them fat.
Obesity rising due to unhealthy diet
On this, Dr. Pontzer says that the biggest reason behind obesity is overeating. He said that bad eating habits are 10 times more responsible for increasing obesity than lack of exercise . Other health experts like Professor Barry Popkin and Dr. Mozaffarian also say that we all have to understand now that it is more important to take a healthy diet than exercise.
Exercise is also necessary
He clarified that if obesity is increasing due to food, it does not mean that you should stop working out and sit on the sofa again. Exercise is still necessary. Exercising keeps our heart, mind and entire body healthy. But to avoid obesity, it is important to have a proper diet.
