News Topical, Digital Desk : Delhi Politics: Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has fiercely targeted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on education and student union. Sachdeva termed Kejriwal's claims on higher education as "hollow" and called the re-launch of AAP's student union as old wine in a new bottle.

Questioning Kejriwal's education claims,

Virendra Sachdeva said that Kejriwal has been running the government in Delhi for the last 10 years, but his education system has been exposed. He alleged that science is not even taught in 90% of government schools and commerce is not available in three-fourths of schools. Sachdeva also claimed, "Kejriwal government deliberately failed a large number of students in class 9th and 11th, so that the board results of class 10th and 12th can be shown better". He said that Kejriwal's claims of higher education are hollow like his other promises.

A dig at the re-launch of the students' union

AAP has recently re-launched its student union. On this, Sachdeva took a jibe and said that the Kejriwal government is known as "Sharab wali Sarkar". He described the re-launch of the student union as old wine in a new bottle. Questioning the credibility of AAP, Sachdeva said that despite being in power for 10 years, AAP could not win even a single seat in Delhi University Students Union (DUSU). Now claiming to set up a student union after being out of power is ridiculous.

It is clear from Sachdeva's statement that BJP is trying to corner AAP on education and youth issues. He says that Kejriwal's policies have weakened the government schools and education system of Delhi. BJP has also called the re-launch of the student union a political gimmick, which has no solid basis.

Kejriwal and AAP are yet to respond to this statement. This war of words between BJP and AAP in Delhi politics is likely to intensify. Both parties are making new moves to woo education and young voters. Now it remains to be seen how much support the public gives to whom on this issue.
