News Topical, Digital Desk : Jalore Operation Shield News: Acting on the orders of the Union Home Ministry, the Jalore district administration of Rajasthan organized the second civil defense exercise 'Operation Shield' on Saturday night. Its purpose is to strengthen civil defense preparations. Under this scheme, a civil defense exercise (mock drill) was conducted at the railway station premises in Jalore on Saturday. 

As part of the blackout and mock drill, information about 30 people getting injured due to bombing at the railway station was given to the district administration, police, medical, 15-member team of NDRF, 60-member team of Home Guard and civil defence. People associated with all the government agencies were in a state of panic after getting the information about the bomb blast. 

The scene of Jalore changed as soon as the emergency siren sounded at night 

After receiving information about the bomb blast at Jalore railway station, all the government agencies started relief work on a war footing. Temporary hospitals were immediately set up. Doctors and nursing staff reached the spot. The injured were provided immediate treatment. Policemen remained engaged in security checks during this time. The seriously injured were admitted to the hospital for better treatment. 

Bomb blast accused arrested 

The forensic team of Jalore Police collected evidence and taking immediate action, the police also arrested a dummy suspect. 

As part of the mock drill strategy, under the guidance of District Collector Dr. Pradeep K. Gawande, District Superintendent of Police Gyanchandra Yadav, the response team of the district administration, police, medical and health, civil defense, fire, NCC, Public Works Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Discom, including civil defense services, evaluated the status of emergency evacuation plans and their implementation. 

What to do during Operation Shield?

In fact, under 'Operation Shield', blackouts, sirens and mock drills are organised with the objective of strengthening civil defence preparedness. During this, war-like situations are created in cities or towns. People are informed about this incident by blackouts and sirens. 

In such a situation, all citizens should voluntarily switch off all the lights of their homes, shops, hotels, buildings, vehicles, offices or any premises as soon as the siren sounds. Put black curtains or covers on the windows and doors of the house so that the light does not go out. Avoid rumours and listen to and broadcast accurate information. Switch off all electrical equipment at the scheduled time during the drill. Remain calm during the drill and avoid rumours. Keep a torch or battery operated equipment with you during the blackout. Remain vigilant in villages and localities and immediately inform the nearest police station about suspicious activities. Do not use mobile flash light and vehicle headlights unnecessarily during the drill. Do not gather crowds and maintain discipline. Do not use any kind of fireworks, loud sound devices or sound amplifying devices.
