This secret is about the flag on the top of this temple, which always flutters in the opposite direction of the wind. Not only this, this flag is also changed every day. It is said that if the flag on the top is not changed even for a day, then the temple will be closed for 18 years. 

This tradition shows respect and devotion towards God. It is believed that the old flag attracts negative energy, so it is changed daily. Apart from this, a Sudarshan Chakra is installed on the peak of this temple. Whichever direction you look at this Chakra from, it will appear bent in that direction. 

Here the sound of the sea waves can be heard till the temple premises, but after entering the temple premises, the sound of the sea waves stops. Everyone is surprised after knowing and hearing all these secrets. Today we are telling you the mythological reason behind this.

The story is related to Hanuman ji 

These mysteries are said to be related to Hanuman ji. According to a mythological story, Lord Vishnu was unable to sleep due to the sound of the sea. When Hanuman ji came to know about this, he requested the sea god to stop his sound. 

On this, the sea expressed its inability and said that it is not in my control. Wherever the wind goes, the sound of my waves will also reach there. Then Hanuman ji asked the sea god for a solution to this, then he told that you should invoke your father Pawan Dev and tell him not to flow in the direction of the temple. 

Pawan Dev had told the solution

On this Hanuman Ji called Pavan Dev and told him this problem. Pavan Dev also said that this is not possible for me. However, if you want, you can do a solution. You should revolve around the temple so fast that a circle of air is formed which does not allow normal wind to enter inside the temple. 

After listening to this solution, Hanuman ji started moving around the temple at a speed faster than the wind. After this, such a circle of wind was formed around the temple that the sound of the sea waves stopped entering the temple. 

After this, Lord Jagannath started sleeping comfortably. It is said that after doing this remedy, the temple's flag keeps waving in the opposite direction of the direction in which the wind is blowing. This has happened because of Hanuman ji moving in the opposite direction.
