News Topical, Digital Desk : Rath Yatra will be taken out on 27 June 2025 on the second day of Ashadh Shukla Paksha in Jagannath Puri temple of Odisha. The Rath Yatra will conclude on 5 July. During this, lakhs of devotees from all over the country will arrive. 

It is believed that all the troubles of the devotees are removed by having darshan of Lord Jagannath. If one gets a chance to pull the chariot of the Lord, then one gets liberation from the cycle of life and death. The person who reaches this event with pure and holy mind and deeds, gets salvation after death. 

Preparations for this grand event are going on with great enthusiasm. Not only is the final stage of preparing the chariots going on, but special clothes are also being prepared for Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and their sister Subhadra. They will wear these clothes during the Rath Yatra and roam around the city. 

Clothes are made in Khurda district 

These clothes worn by the Lord are made by families of weavers in Odisha. The families of weavers living in Rawatpada village of Khurda district have been making these clothes for centuries. The families of weavers have been doing the work of making clothes for the Lord from generation to generation. 

 

These clothes are made with great purity and care. They are woven by hand using traditional methods. When these clothes are made from cotton and silk threads without using any machine, they are first purified. 

wear different clothes for 7 days 

The clothes for the 7 days are specially made in different colours. Silk and cotton clothes are used to make them. During the Rath Yatra, the Lord wears red, white, five-coloured, yellow and black clothes.

Lord Jagannath's chariot is decorated with red and yellow clothes. Balabhadra's chariot is decorated with red and green clothes, while Subhadra's chariot is prepared with red and black clothes.
