First of all, visit Ganga Maayya and bow to her with folded hands. Never put your feet in Ganga first. Instead, take some Ganga water in your hand and apply it on your forehead. Only after this, enter the river Ganga. While bathing, take at least 3, 5 or 7 dips and keep chanting Har-Har Gange.
