Huge crowds gathered for Hadi's funeral
Addressing the thousands of people who had gathered at Hadi's funeral, Yunus assured them of fulfilling Hadi's dream and carrying it forward for generations. Yunus, quoted by Bangladesh's newspaper The Daily Star, said that Osman Hadi is in everyone's hearts and will remain in everyone's hearts as long as Bangladesh exists. Yunus emphasized that no one can dislodge him. Millions of people have gathered in waves today, while millions across Bangladesh and Bangladeshis living abroad have been waiting for this moment to hear about Hadi.
Yunus said – will fulfill Hadi's promises
"We have come to promise that we will fulfill what you (Hadi) have asked of us. Not just us, but people of Bangladesh for generations will fulfill this promise," Yunus said. Muhammad Yunus recalled Hadi's political approach and how much people admired him. He said, “Everyone admires your love for humanity, your way of living and interacting with people, and your political perspective.” Furthermore, Yunus recalled Hadi's desire to run in the elections. He said, "You wanted to run, and by doing so, you showed us how to campaign. You taught us everything, and we have embraced this learning. You will always be with us, reminding us again and again of your mantra."
