In the year 1997, Bobby Deol's second movie Gupt was released on the big screen. In this film directed by Rajiv Rai, actresses Kajol and Manisha Koirala were also present in important roles along with him. As a suspense thriller, the story and songs of Gupt won the hearts of the fans and Gupt did wonders with a collection of  18.23 crores at the box office.

Soldier 

Director duo Abbas-Mustan made a film called Soldier in 1998. The lead roles included actors like Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta and Suresh Oberoi. This movie proved to be a milestone for Bobby's acting career and his name was also included among the superstars of the 90s. This film made a great collection of  21.37 crores at the box office.

Bobby Deol's action thriller film Badal with actress Rani Mukerji and veteran actor Amrish Puri was released in 2000. Buoyed by the success of Soldier, Bobby proved his mettle as a strong actor and the film was a success. It earned 15.38 crores at the box office .
