The film did well at the box office but one more thing that caught the attention of the fans was Esha Deol. Esha set the screen on fire by wearing a bikini in the film. The popular song Dhoom Machale was very popular due to its music and scenes. Esha's bold looks were discussed everywhere.

My mother is very open minded

Recently the film has completed 20 years. On this special occasion, in an interview given to Filmigyan, Esha talked about her 'bikini moment'. When Esha was asked what was her mother's reaction to her bikini avatar, Esha said that Hema Malini was not shocked or surprised at all. She said, "My mother is a very open-minded woman." She further said that even when I go on holidays with my friends, I wear a bikini. What is wrong in this?"

Earlier also, in an interview, Esha Deol had said that she had to take permission from her mother to wear a bikini in the Dhoom title track. But since Hema Malini is very cool, there was no problem in this.

Sequels came after the success of Dhoom

Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and produced by Yash Raj Films, Dhoom was such a huge hit that it spawned not one but two sequels. This was followed by Dhoom 2 and Dhoom 3 which proved to be even bigger hits than the original. Dhoom 2, released in 2006, featured Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
