New Delhi: The brutality that happened with a trainee doctor in Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital shook the whole country. On the morning of 9 August, the body of the trainee doctor was found in the seminar hall and the investigation revealed the case to be of rape and murder. This brutality reminded people of the Nirbhaya incident of 2012. Bollywood celebrities also expressed anger over this brutality and demanded the harshest punishment for the accused.

In a conversation with Radio City, when John Abraham was asked to react on the Kolkata doctor murder case, the actor said, "I would tell the boys to mend their ways, else I will tear them into pieces." John also talked about better upbringing of boys.

John Abraham further added, "Honestly and seriously, I just hope for a better upbringing and I won't say anything to girls because what is their fault? I think parents should tell boys to behave properly. Girls should get more rights."
Men were advised to become protectors
Some time ago, John Abraham had said that women, children and animals are not safe in the country. He had advised men to become protectors of women. These days John Abraham's film Vedaa is running in theatres, in which he is seen as the protector of Sharvari Wagh. The film, which released on 15 August, is directed by Nikhil Advani. Tamannaah Bhatia, Ashish Vidyarthi and Abhishek Banerjee are in the lead roles in the film.
