Welcome To The Jungle: 30 actors, 250 cars, 50 vanity vans & 900 people… Fighting these difficulties

News Topical, Digital Desk : Director Ahmed Khan on the sets of Welcome To The Jungle talks about the shooting of the film He recently opened up at length about the challenges he faced while shooting this Akshay Kumar-starrer. Shooting for the film was like having a big concert every day, he said.

“Normally, when you have big stars on the set, you expect ego clashes, fights or arguments,” director Ahmed Khan told The Hollywood Reporter. But we had none of it. We actually had a really good time shooting. "It obviously took a lot of effort to bring so many people together in such heat, to meet strict deadlines, to set dates, to set camera frames and to put up physical sets.

The Akshay Kumar starrer film, Welcome to the Jungle is releasing tomorrow i.e on 26th of June. I don't think any movie ever put together so many big actors before. Now the film’s director Ahmed Khan has spoken about the hardships faced during the shoot. “There were 250 vehicles, 30 actors, 50 vanity vans and 700 to 900 people on the set at any given time,” he said. It was like we were doing a big concert every day during the shooting,” he said.

“We had days when we had 30 actors on the set at the same time,” Ahmed Khan said. Each with a team of about 5 people. So about 150 in total. In addition, the production employed some 200 crew members. Action fighters, horse riders, 150-200 background actors and large dance troupes often meant that the total number of people on set was 700 to 900, he adds.

The atmosphere during filming was concert-like.
Ahmed Khan confessed that shooting this film was like hosting a big concert every day. The production had bought two large grounds nearby to accommodate so many people, he said. “Just imagine making a film of that size,” he says. Not only did we need one ground, we had to find two big grounds at the same time. Why, because? We needed a place to park 50 vanity vans. We also needed room for the extras and the cabins of the main unit.”

Ahmed also said that the actors came to set in their own vehicles as did the technicians, and there were separate vehicles for the makeup team, hair stylists and personal staff. “We used to have to deal with 200-250 vehicles a day,” he said.
