News Topical, Digital Desk : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reacted to the luncheon between US President Donald Trump and Pakistan's Field Marshal Asim Munir. The CM said that we cannot decide whom America invites for dinner. He said that we thought the US President is our friend, but America puts its own benefits above everything else. He also expressed his views on the return of Indian students stranded in Iran.

‘America only cares about its own benefits’

Omar Abdullah said, “Can we tell him whom he will invite for dinner and whom he will not? It is another matter that we thought that the President of America is our very special friend and he will take care of our friendship. But it is obvious that America does what is for its benefit. They do not care about the benefit of any other country.”

'Indian students stranded in Iran return safely'

CM Omar Abdullah informed about the efforts being made to bring back Indian citizens, especially students from Jammu and Kashmir, stuck in Iran. He said, "We cannot evacuate them overnight because no airport or port is open. We are first bringing them by road to those cities where there is no bombing. Then from there, work is being done to bring them back via Armenia. Today, it is expected that around 300 or 400 more students are coming, most of whom are students from Jammu and Kashmir. We will bring them back home safely."

What did he say on the role of the Lieutenant Governor

On the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, "I never said that LG has all the power. You can see the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act. LG himself said that his responsibility is limited to security and law and order. That is why I say that LG sahab should sign the business rules approved by the cabinet and return them so that there is no confusion here. We ourselves say that LG sahab has only one responsibility. He should keep the people of Jammu and Kashmir safe, make proper security arrangements here. The rest of the responsibility is ours."
