News Topical, Digital Desk : Uttarakhand News: During the Chardham Yatra, pilgrims are facing huge difficulties in the Parthadip landslide area near Nandprayag while going towards Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib. The work of removing debris has been completed by NHIDCL (National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation) in this area, but asphalting has not been done yet. Due to this, vehicles passing through here have to travel amidst flying dust.

In a stretch of about 120 meters, only soil and gravel are laid on the road, due to which dust rises as soon as heavy vehicles pass by. This situation is not only causing trouble for the pilgrims, but is also affecting the health of the local people. The Parthadip area is an important part of the journey to major pilgrimage sites like Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib, so it is very important that the road system here is in good condition.

At the same time, the problem of parking in Nandprayag market is also causing traffic jam. Traffic jam is being created due to the movement of vehicles from both sides on the road from the market area to Jhulabgarh. The road of Jhulabgarh is already narrow, in such a situation, the increased traffic pressure during the pilgrimage is creating more problems.

Congress state spokesperson Tejveer Kandhari has expressed displeasure over this situation. He said that NHIDCL should complete the asphalting work in the Parthadip area as soon as possible so that pilgrims can get relief from the dusty journey. He has also demanded a permanent vehicle parking arrangement in Nandprayag.

On the other hand, Chamoli police station in-charge Anurodh Vyas said that adequate number of policemen have been deployed to control the traffic in Nandprayag area. He claimed that efforts are being made continuously to prevent traffic jams and special monitoring is being done in crowded areas. However, until the road is not asphalted and permanent parking arrangements are not made, it seems difficult for the passengers and local people to get relief from the inconvenience.

What did the Chamoli District Magistrate say?

When ABP Live spoke to Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari, he told that there was a lot of landslide in this area which has been fixed and the work is to be done by the central agency. We have corresponded with them and it is expected that within a week this road will be asphalted. No problem of any kind will be allowed during the journey. All our officers are constantly monitoring this issue and it is expected that this problem will be solved within a week.
