Now the Union Home Ministry has been entrusted with the responsibility of their further development and coordination. For this, the allocation of business rules of 1961 have been amended.

A new point has been added in this rule under the State Department of the Home Ministry, stating that the Home Ministry will now coordinate for the further progress of former Agniveers.
In 2022, the government started the Agnipath Recruitment Scheme
It is worth noting that in June 2022, the government had started the Agneepath Recruitment Scheme with the aim of reducing the age limit of the three services. Candidates selected under the Agneepath scheme in the age group of 17 and a half years to 21 years are recruited as Agniveer in the Army, Air Force and Navy for four years and a provision has been made to retain 25 percent of the candidates for the next 15 years.
The government has already reserved 10 per cent jobs for former Agniveers in all recruitments of constables in the 11 lakh-strong Central Armed Police Forces like CRPF, BSF, CISF, SSB etc.

The CAPF recruits around 10-12 thousand personnel in the constable rank. Various agencies and departments of the central government have also announced plans to recruit former Agniveers.
Parliamentary committee will discuss the impact of AI in defense and other sectors
The growing influence of AI in various sectors, including defence and internal security, will be discussed in a parliamentary committee meeting later this month. Union secretaries from the ministries of home, defence, power and information technology are likely to attend the meeting. The meeting is scheduled to be held on June 26. The agenda of the meeting includes the impact of the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related issues.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey is the chairman of this committee
Official sources said AI is now at the forefront of technological innovation and the committee, headed by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, will be briefed by senior government officials on its role in various sectors. They will also be briefed on India's progress and future plans, sources said.
