News Topical, Digital Desk : India Pakistan News: Amidst the Indo-Pak dispute, students studying in Jammu and Kashmir are returning to their homes. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the state government took a big step for the safe return of students studying in Jammu and Kashmir. In this direction, a bus carrying 39 Himachali students studying in Srinagar left for Jammu on Saturday. This bus was arranged by the Jammu and Kashmir State Transport Department.

It was expected that the bus would reach Jammu by 5 pm, but due to heavy traffic jam near Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the students were delayed in reaching Jammu. The bus reached Jammu late in the evening.

'Students are being brought to Himachal by making coordination'
Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Managing Director Dr. Nipun Jindal said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, the state government officials are bringing students to Himachal by making continuous coordination with the officials of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. The bus will take the students to Jassur in Kangra district. This bus will reach Himachal today.

'Free return to the state should be ensured'
Dr. Nipun Jindal said that these students include 17 from Kangra district, 4 from Mandi, 5 from Hamirpur, 4 from Sirmaur, 1 from Kullu, 1 from Lahaul, 1 from Una, 2 from Bilaspur and 2 from Solan. The Chief Minister has directed that free return of all the students to the state should be ensured.

He said that an HRTC bus has already been dispatched to Jammu, which will take the students to Jassur in Kangra district. However, due to delay in reaching Jammu, the students will now be brought to Jassur on Sunday morning. The statement said that the Chief Minister has directed that the students be brought back to Himachal Pradesh free of cost.

Nipun Jindal said that overnight stay has been arranged for the students in Jammu. They will resume their journey to Jassur on Sunday, from where transport will be provided to take them to their respective hometowns.
