News Topical, Digital Desk : To further strengthen India's maritime security capabilities, Adani Defence & Aerospace has announced a strategic partnership with US company Sparton (DeLeon Springs LLC). This partnership is considered an important step towards indigenisation of cutting-edge sonobuoy technology in India.

Spartan, which is part of Israeli defense company Elbit Systems, is a leading provider of anti-submarine warfare systems (ASW). Under this collaboration, complex electronic systems and ASW solutions will be locally produced in India, which will be useful for domestic needs as well as global markets.

Adani Defense has claimed that it has become the first private company in India to provide indigenous sonobuoy solutions. Sonobuoy is a very important technology for the Navy which helps in detecting, monitoring and tracking submarines and other threats in the sea. This system plays an important role in strengthening the 'undersea domain awareness' of the Indian Navy. Jeet Adani, Vice President, Adani Enterprises, said-  "Given the increasing threats in India's maritime domain, strengthening anti-submarine capabilities is no longer a strategic priority but an imperative. The Indian Navy requires mission-ready systems that are indigenous, can be deployed rapidly and are globally competitive." Adani Defence & Aerospace CEO Ashish Rajvanshi called it an important achievement towards 'self-reliance' and said that for decades we were dependent on foreign countries for this important technology. At the same time, Sparton Company President Donnelly Bohan said - "We are proud to bring cutting-edge ASW technology to India and work with Adani Defence to develop reliable solutions for the Indian Navy." This partnership will strengthen the 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' campaigns and will make it possible to manufacture advanced defense technologies, create jobs and develop globally competitive products in the country.
