A flood of devotees thronged the Kashi Vishwanath temple, and the Vikramaditya Vedic clock was installed.:Over three lakh devotees at Kashi Vishwanath Dham over the weekend.

On Saturday, long queues of Baba's devotees were seen all around the temple area throughout the day. More than three lakh devotees visited and worshipped. Cheers for Baba kept echoing throughout the day in the temple area from Maidagin to Godaulia, from Church to Dashashwamedh.

Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of the temple, said that adequate measures have been taken to protect the devotees from the heat and sun. There is ample arrangement of German hangers, floor mats and water in the temple. Coolers have also been installed at various places to prevent the devotees from feeling hot. Drinking water, electrolyte, ORS solution etc. are being made available to the devotees standing in the queue by the temple. These days, about two and a half to three lakh devotees are reaching Baba Darbar every day.

Vikramaditya Vedic clock installed in the temple
On Saturday, Vikramaditya Vedic clock, gifted by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, was installed near the Shivaarchanam stage at Mandir Chowk.

After the Vikramaditya Vedic Clock was installed in Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, the center of time calculation, it is being installed at 12 Jyotirlingas located across the country. After Ujjain, the Vedic Clock was installed at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham on Saturday.

This watch presents a modern take on the traditional method of calculating time based on the Indian calendar and the position of the Sun. According to experts, this watch is an attempt to showcase the scientific nature of Indian astronomy and indigenous knowledge traditions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated this clock in 2024. The clock operates with sunrise. This means that the time of sunrise at a particular location will be linked to that standard time. With this clock and mobile app, it is possible to accurately calculate Vedic time for each city.
