Greater Noida News: The Yogi government, which is striving to make Uttar Pradesh a better state, has started the process of implementing a modern traffic management system in the Greater Noida area. The Integrated Traffic Management System (ISTMS) will soon be established in the Greater Noida area, which will act as a 'third eye' in traffic management and security of Greater Noida.
Under the project, CCTV surveillance will be done at 357 locations of Greater Noida with an amount of Rs 227.60 crore. High quality CCTV surveillance cameras will be installed, which will enable monitoring of every inch of the Greater Noida area. It is worth mentioning that through the establishment of ISTMS, the focus will be on the integration process of various technologies to make the traffic management of the area more efficient and safe.
In this project, a comprehensive traffic management system, video surveillance, emergency response system and public information system will be developed. At the same time, under the process, an Integrated Command and Control Center (ICC) will be established which will improve the quality of life of the citizens and visitors coming here. This process will be completed by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority.
ISTMS system will be implemented in 12 months
The objective of ITMS is to provide real-time and predictive information about citizens, assets, traffic flow and traffic congestion/incidents to law enforcement agencies and traffic managers. The solution will be implemented with a focus on improving citizen safety, especially for women, children and senior citizens, as well as safety and management of urban roads through adaptive control and analysis.
Video surveillance cameras, smart traffic signal control, ease of mobility, management of emergency services, data analytics, routing and dispatching services, public information system etc. will be ensured through the process. The traffic management system will have all the necessary components for the proper functioning of the ecosystem of connectivity, hardware and software technologies. Under the process, a time period of 12 months has been set to roll out the ITMS system.
It has already been implemented in Noida Ghaziabad.
It is worth mentioning that Integrated Traffic Management System has already been implemented in Noida and Ghaziabad. Under the project, real time traffic monitoring will be done through intelligent traffic management which will help in crime control. Implementation of the system will help in reducing travel time. The efficiency of transport infrastructure will be increased to regulate and maintain normal flow of traffic at intersections which will help in reducing congestion, travel time, fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
