Ghaziabad News: Mahant Yati Narasimhan of Dasna Shiv Shakti Dham temple in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh is in the headlines these days due to his controversial statements. After his statement, discussion has also started about Dasna Shiv Shakti Dham temple. People are curious to know the history of this temple.

The Dasna temple of which the controversial Yeti Narsinghanand is the Mahant dates back to the Mahabharata period. It is believed that the five Pandavas took refuge in this temple during their exile. According to alleged claims, this temple was damaged during the Mughal period. The Mahant of that time hid the idol of the goddess in the pond, hiding it from the Mughals.

The temple is made of Lakhori bricks.
It is said that about two hundred years later, the goddess appeared in the dream of the then Mahant Jagat Giri Maharaj of the temple and told him that the idol was in the pond. He got the idol excavated in the pond and re-established the temple. Lakhori bricks have been used in the construction of the temple.

Looking at the Lakhori bricks, it seems that this temple was probably built during the Mughal period. The idol of Goddess Kali installed in the temple does not have its tongue out. She is standing on a lotus flower. The idol is made of touchstone. The price of this metal is in crores.

The idol is made of precious metal.
It has been claimed that such an ancient idol of the goddess in this form and metal is found only at four places in the world. These include Shiv Shakti Dham Dasna, Higlaj (which is now in Pakistan), Kolkata and Kamakhya temple near Guwahati.

Many times a roof has been made by putting a lintel over the Shivling installed in Shiv Shakti Dham, but till date the roof does not stay on it. This lintel develops cracks at night or the next day. It is believed that every wish of the devotee is fulfilled by seeing the Shivling installed in the temple and the Kali form of the Goddess.
