On February 6 the World Health Organization (WHO) joined a worldwide advocacy webinar dedicated to International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). A UNFPA – UNICEF Joint Programme on Elimination of Female Genital Mutilation hosted "Stepping Up the Pace: Strengthening Alliances and Building Movements to End FGM" as the major event. A global group of leaders along with survivors and youth advocates convened during the webinar to stop FGM. The observance enabled worldwide efforts to emphasize progress in addition to spreading awareness about putting an end to this unsafe practice.
