Mumbai: The woman arrested for allegedly sending a message threatening to kill Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been released by Mumbai police after questioning. The accused, Fatima Khan, was arrested by the Mumbai Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) in a joint operation with the Ulhasnagar police, an official said on Monday. She was brought to Mumbai for questioning and later released on Sunday.

A message was received on the WhatsApp number of Mumbai Traffic Police on Saturday, threatening that if Adityanath does not resign from the post of Chief Minister within 10 days, he will be murdered like NCP leader Baba Siddiqui.

Former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui was shot dead in Mumbai on October 12. During investigation, the police found out that Fatima had sent this message. Fatima is a resident of Ulhasnagar in Thane district and has a BSc in Information Technology (IT). Her mental condition is not good.

An official said on Sunday that Fatima has done B.Sc in Information Technology (IT). She lives with her family in Ulhasnagar of Thane district. Her father is in the timber business. Police said that the accused woman is mentally unstable.

Earlier, two more WhatsApp messages were received on the WhatsApp number of Mumbai Traffic Police. Police have identified the accused of sending threatening messages. In the WhatsApp message sent on October 29, two crore rupees were demanded. It was threatened that if two crore rupees were not received, Zeeshan Siddiqui and Bollywood actor Salman Khan would be shot.

The police conducted a search operation and arrested Bandra resident Mohammad Mustafa. Earlier, a threatening message was received on October 17. In this message, the sender had written that if Salman did not give five crore rupees, he would have to face the same consequences as Baba Siddiqui. In this case, the police arrested the accused, who was identified as Sheikh Hussain Sheikh, a resident of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
