Gyanpur (Bhadohi). Action will be taken against farmers who take loan from cooperative societies and land development bank for purchasing fertilizers, seeds and agricultural machinery and equipment for farming and are negligent in repaying the loan. Preparations have been made by the bank and cooperative department to issue notice for recovery.
If payment is not made after the notice period, recovery action will be taken by issuing RC. About 14 crore rupees are due on 5500 farmers. Negligence is being shown in paying the amount. Many schemes are being run at the government level to make farmers strong and self-reliant. Similarly, there should be no problem or financial constraints in purchasing agricultural machinery and equipment from fertilizers and seeds to make agricultural work easier.
There is a scheme to provide loan facility from Land Development Bank and Cooperative Department. Farmers taking short term loan have to deposit the amount after the crop is harvested. Subsidy is also given by the government on this loan.
According to the data of the cooperative department, 4500 farmers who have taken loan from the cooperative department have about four crores and 1000 farmers associated with the land development bank have a loan outstanding of Rs 10 crores. Negligence is being shown in the payment of this loan. The most important thing is that due to low interest rate, farmers can pay on time. Despite this, the outstanding amount is increasing due to the interest charged due to negligence in payment. However, now preparations are being made to be strict regarding recovery.
Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Raghavendra Shukla said that 5500 farmers associated with Land Development Bank and Cooperative Department have a loan of Rs 14 crore outstanding. In the first phase, a list of defaulters with more than one lakh dues has been prepared and notices are being sent to them. Even after this, if the defaulters do not pay, the process of confiscating and auctioning the property will be started against them under Section 95 A and 92 B of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Societies Act 1965.
