Thousands of protesters in hundreds of cities across America from Midtown Manhattan to Anchorage, Alaska protested against Trump and Elon Musk's policies on layoffs, economy, immigration and human rights. The 'Hands Off' rally of common people has increased the difficulties of the Trump administration.

Why did people come out to protest?

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets in Portland, Oregon and Los Angeles, marching from Pershing Square to City Hall and shouting slogans against the government. Since Donald Trump came to power, the government efficiency department led by Elon Musk in the US has been engaged in layoffs. People are expressing their anger against layoffs, closing regional offices of the Social Security Administration, deporting immigrants, protection of transgenders and reduction in funds for health programs.

What did the White House say in its statement?

On the protests, the White House said that President Trump's position is clear. He has always been in favor of providing Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to eligible beneficiaries. The Democrats' stance is to provide Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare benefits to illegal foreigners. This will bankrupt these programs and the senior citizens of America will have to bear the brunt of it.
