Uric Acid is a natural substance formed in the body by the breakdown of a compound called purine. Tips to Reduce Uric Acid

  • Diet changes- Eat fewer purine-rich foods, such as red meat, seafood, beer, and some vegetables. Include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products in your diet. Cherry and lemon juice can help reduce uric acid.
  • Drink water- Drinking plenty of water helps in eliminating uric acid from the body through urine.
  • Lose weight – If you are obese, losing weight can lower uric acid levels.
  • Exercise- Regular exercise can help reduce uric acid levels.
  • Medications: Your doctor may prescribe medications that reduce uric acid.
  • Do not drink alcohol- Drinking alcohol increases the level of uric acid. So minimize it or stop it completely.
