Metabolism is a process in which energy is obtained from food. This helps in proper digestion of food in the body and all the body parts get the right amount of nutrition. This keeps the person active and energetic throughout the day. However, the speed of metabolism depends on many factors, such as age, gender, genetics, physical activity and food. Alcohol

Sometimes metabolism also slows down due to some refined oils. Refined oils like soybean, sunflower oil are rich in omega-6 fatty acids. Excessive consumption of these increases insulin and leptin resistance, which slows down metabolism.
