New Delhi. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched the Rajiv Gandhi Civil Abhayahastam Yojana. This scheme was launched last Saturday. Through this scheme, the government will provide Rs 1 lakh to the candidates who pass the preliminary examinations of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
The scheme aims to help youth prepare for UPSC Mains. Singareni Collieries is providing financial assistance as part of its construction program.
Who will get the benefit of the scheme?
To avail the scheme, candidates must belong to General (EWS), BC, SC or ST categories. They must be permanent residents of Telangana and have cleared the UPSC Mains exam. Their family income should be less than Rs 8 lakh and they can avail the financial assistance only once in an attempt to clear the civil services exam. Candidates holding permanent posts in the Centre, State or public sector organisations are ineligible.
'Unemployed youth suffer huge losses'
While launching the scheme, Revanth Reddy said, 'Unemployed youth suffered a lot in the last 10 years due to paper leak in TGPSC exam. Therefore, our government made it its top priority to solve the problems of the unemployed. Within 3 months of coming to power, appointment orders were issued to fill 30,000 posts. We also heard the complaints of the candidates and postponed the Group 2 exam.
What will be the process?
Solving the problems of the unemployed is our first priority. We will conduct the examinations in a proper manner. Reddy also explained how he will plan the examinations. Reddy said, "The job calendar will be announced in the upcoming budget session of the state assembly. The government will collect data of vacancies in every department before March every year. The notification will be issued by June 2 and the recruitment process will be completed by December 9.
