Mumbai. To do something new, sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone. Actress Sumona Chakravarti, who has done comedy shows with comedian Kapil Sharma, has also embarked on a similar path. However, when she was not seen in Kapil's current show, many questions were raised.

Now Sumona has told that she wants to work more as an actress apart from comedy. This is the reason why she has become a part of the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. After this show, she will look for challenging roles in the field of acting. Excerpts from the conversation with her.

You said I need to improve my PR (public relations) skills? How much have I achieved?

I think PR is not my cup of tea. I am a private person. In the old days, there used to be a mystery around artists. I like to keep the same mystery around me. (Laughs) Maybe I am old fashioned.

Can being a private person in this industry be dangerous when it comes to getting work?

Yes, if I am not able to keep pace with the times, I will become outdated. However, I like to walk before running away, so now I have started talking about myself, what I am doing and what I am not doing. I have seen in many parties that people very easily go to a director, casting director, studio head, introduce themselves and say that they want to work with you.

I was not able to do that before, but for the last two-three years I have also been doing that. When Neena ji (actress Neena Gupta) posted on the internet media asking for work, I was thinking that if an artist of her level can ask for work, then why can't I. Even then, due to my introvert nature, I was not able to do it. Now if I like the work of any director, then I message him and tell him that I would like to work with him.
