While the current week has 4 trading sessions, the New Year 2025 is starting on Wednesday next week and on this day too many markets around the world are going to remain closed. There is a New Year holiday in the global markets but there is no holiday on January 1 in the Indian markets and on this day everything from the stock exchange to banks, government offices etc. in the country remain open. The stock market will remain sluggish for the next few days
