Consumption of bottled soft drinks has increased among the average Indian household in the last two years and this figure has increased to more than 50 percent in the last financial year 2023-24. According to the latest report of Kantar FMCG Pulse, this trend is likely to increase further as the summer heat increases.
According to the report, the consumption of bottled soft drinks has increased by 250 ml in the average family in the last two years. Apart from this, 'fabric softener' has now reached one in every four households in the country. It is still considered a premium washing product.
Increased demand for liquid detergent
Another premium washing product (liquid detergent) from daily use companies crossed the one lakh tonne mark in FY 2023-24. Now consumers buy FMCG products 156 times a year or once every 56 hours from online or offline channels. However, the report also said that the average purchase value has come down, as customers are no longer making big purchases as before.
FMCG sales increased in rural areas
