New Delhi: Author and former diplomat Amish has openly supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time in the Lok Sabha elections, saying right leadership is essential if India has to take advantage of the changing world order.

In an interview regarding the success of his recent documentary 'Ram Janmabhoomi Temple: The Return of a Splendid Sun', Amish said that we all are living in such a critical era where many things are being rewritten and created and India will have to contribute to most of the things.

We will have to face troubles for more decades

He said, there is a couplet in Urdu, 'Lamhon ne khata ki, sadi ne saza paayi'. If we do not get the right leadership at this time, we will not be able to ensure that India benefits from the change in the world order. Due to this, we will have to face troubles for more decades.

The new world order will be established again in the next 5-10 years

He said that the new world order will be re-established in the next 5-10 years. At such a time, a leader is needed who can play the international 'game' well in India's interest. Praising the current government, he said that this government is so strong that it can strongly counter all kinds of pressure from western powers.

India continues to import oil from Russia amid Moscow-Ukraine conflict

In support of his point, Amish gave the example of how India continued to import oil from Russia during the conflict between Moscow and Ukraine. In business terms, this is called a first level strategy. He said that there were many times in history when we could not stand up to pressure. Due to this, India has suffered a lot. 49-year-old Amish has also been the Director of Nehru Center and Minister of Culture and Education at the Indian High Commission in London.
