After the festive celebrations of Holi, Madhya Pradesh is now experiencing rising temperatures, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a heatwave alert. The sudden shift from pleasant weather to scorching heat has raised concerns, especially for residents in several districts where temperatures are expected to soar further.

With summer setting in, people are advised to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.

IMD’s Heatwave Alert for Madhya Pradesh

Rising temperatures have been recorded across multiple regions, crossing 35-40°C in some areas.
The IMD has warned that heatwave conditions could intensify in the coming days.
Cities like Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur are likely to experience extreme heat.

Why is Madhya Pradesh Experiencing a Sudden Heatwave?

Shifting seasonal patterns after winter are leading to rapid temperature rise.
Lack of rainfall or strong winds has resulted in increased dry heat.
The IMD predicts that temperatures will continue to rise, making April and May even hotter.

Precautions to Stay Safe During the Heatwave

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, coconut water, and fresh juices.
Avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours (12 PM - 4 PM).
Wear light, breathable cotton clothes to stay cool.
Use sunglasses, hats, or umbrellas while stepping outdoors.
Include seasonal fruits like watermelon, cucumber, and lemon water in your diet.

The heatwave may continue for the next few days, with temperatures expected to rise further.
Relief is only expected if there is a sudden change in wind patterns or unseasonal rainfall.
IMD advises people to stay updated on weather reports and take necessary precautions.
