Lucknow Latest News: The ATS Special Court of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh has sentenced Shahnawaz Ahmed Teli and Aqib Ahmed Malik, residents of Kashmir, to 7 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of 30 thousand rupees. Both these terrorists were arrested in 2019 with hand grenades. ATS recovered pistols and hand grenades from both the arrested accused. ATS had arrested them in the nexus of making young people terrorists by linking them with Jaish-e-Mohammed. The court has sentenced both the terrorists in this case.
In 2019, UP ATS received information that two terrorists Shahnawaz Ahmed Teli and Aqib Ahmed Malik associated with the banned terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed were trying to radicalize the youth to carry out terrorist activities in India and connect them with the Jaish-e-Mohammed organization.
ATS investigation revealed that Shahnawaz Ahmed Teli and Aqib Ahmed Malik, both residents of Jammu and Kashmir, are active members of Jaish-e-Mohammed. They were inciting the youth of India to join Jaish-e-Mohammed and were collecting funding and other support. ATS took action on this and arrested both of them.
ATS had recovered grenades.
In this regard, UP ATS has registered a case and arrested Shahnawaz Ahmed Teli and Aqib Ahmed Malik on 20 February 2019. ATS recovered 3 pistols, 30 cartridges and magazines and two grenades from them. After investigation, ATS presented both the terrorists in the court on 18 August 2019 after the crime of Explosives Act was proved against them. On 26 November 2024, the special court of UP ATS sentenced terrorists Shahnawaz Ahmad Teli and Aqib Ahmed Malik to seven years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 30 thousand rupees.
