Jerusalem. After the slowdown in military action in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that now strict action will be taken on the northern border of the country. Lebanon is to the north of Israel and the Iran-backed armed organization Hezbollah, which has occupied a large part of it, has been attacking Israel since October 8, 2023.
Netanyahu said this
Israel is also responding to its attacks. Hezbollah is attacking Israel in support of Hamas, which is fighting the Israeli army in Gaza. Netanyahu said, if anyone thinks that he will harm us and we will sit quietly, then he is making a big mistake. Now we are preparing for strong action on the northern border.
Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch, an organization working for human rights, has expressed apprehension that Israel has caused devastation by using banned highly flammable phosphorus bombs in its attack on five towns of Lebanon.
Israel and Hezbollah also fought in 2006
It is known that Israel and Hezbollah had fought a war in 2006 as well and tens of thousands of people from both sides were killed in that. Meanwhile, activities for ceasefire in Gaza have gained momentum. America is trying to get a three-phase resolution passed in the Security Council and efforts to make Israel and Hamas agree on the points of agreement are also in progress.
