India’s Space Research Organization (ISRO) is all set to make its first trip into space in an attempt to explore the planet Venus, keeping India’s space ambitions on track. Known as 'Shukrayaan-1', the mission's aim is to study the atmosphere and surface of Venus, observing such things as volcanism, climate, and geological features of the planet. Venus is often called Earth's twin, and it has been largely unexplored because of its thick, toxic atmosphere. The mission will use advanced imaging and spectroscopy to provide very critical data that would help our knowledge of planetary science and support future missions to other planets such as Mars and Jupiter.
