Maha Kumbh Stampede: The effect of stampede in Maha Kumbh is now being seen in the surrounding districts. From Sonbhadra to Rae Bareli, Fatehpur, Chandauli, devotees have been stopped so that the crowd in Prayagraj can be controlled. In Rae Bareli, orders have been given to keep schools closed in view of the traffic, while at many places the passengers have been kept in the hold area. The passengers coming from Fatehpur have also been stopped by the security forces at the border itself.
In Sonbhadra, a huge crowd of devotees going to Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh and Mauni Amavasya is being seen. From here, devotees from four states enter Prayagraj. In such a situation, the district administration has stopped thousands of devotees at the railway station and bus depot on the Sonbhadra border to reduce the pressure of crowd in Prayagraj.
Devotees stopped at Sonbhadra border:
The devotees coming from Bihar through Sonbhadra border have been stopped at Suarsot, devotees from Jharkhand at Vindhamganj, devotees from Chhattisgarh at Babhani and those coming from Madhya Pradesh at Shaktinagar and Ghorawal. To control the crowd, DM, SSP, ADM, City Magistrate along with other officers and force have been deployed at railway stations, bus stations, and borders. Passengers were sent to their destinations in several Kumbh special trains. People have been appealed not to travel by risking their lives.
In Raebareli too, holidays have been declared in schools in view of the rush of vehicles returning after the Mauni Amavasya bath. On the instructions of District Magistrate Harshita Mathur, holidays have been declared for all private and government schools and all schools have been instructed to strictly follow the order.
Maha Kumbh special trains were cancelled.
In Chandauli too, all railway stations have been put on alert due to Maha Kumbh. In view of the crowd, all Kumbh special trains have been stopped from DDU station. Thousands of passengers have been stopped at the station itself. All the officers of the division along with the railway administration have reached the station. Arrangements are being made for the passengers. Entry to the station has been banned by putting up barriers. ACM Manish Kumar said that the train going to Prayagraj has been stopped till further orders.
Police and army personnel deployed in Fatehpur.
In Fatehpur, adjacent to Prayagraj, the devotees going to Prayagraj have been stopped. Police and army personnel have been deployed here. Hundreds of vehicles have been stopped. Along with this, the force is on alert in many places including Kaushambi, Banda, Rae Bareli and is sending vehicles from outside the state to Prayagraj by diverting the route. The entire area is being monitored with drone cameras. Thousands of vehicles have been stopped at Sultanpur Ghosh border.
Borders sealed in Amethi
In view of the stampede caused by the huge crowd at Prayagraj Sangam on the day of Mauni Amavasya, the borders of Amethi have been sealed. All vehicles have been stopped at the district border. Vehicles going towards Prayagraj are being stopped at the district border. Many buses full of devotees were stopped at the district border. The police have put up barricades and put up strict vigil on the border under Ramganj police station area on the Ayodhya, Prayagraj highway and on the border of Amethi Pratapgarh.
Buses, four-wheelers stopped in Jaunpur
Apart from this, all buses, four-wheelers and pilgrims going for holy bath have been stopped for 24 hours on the border of Prayagraj in Jaunpur. Also, District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra has appealed to everyone not to go to Kumbh for the next 24 hours due to heavy crowd.
