Alzheimer's Disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects memory, thinking, decision-making ability and behavior of a person. This disease usually affects a person in old age. Due to the brain function being affected in this disease, the patient is not able to do even small everyday tasks properly, such as crossing the road, bringing goods from the market, etc. Although, there is no cure for Alzheimer's Disease yet, but its risk can be reduced by making some changes in the lifestyle (Lifestyle Changes to Prevent Alzheimer's Disease).

Healthy Diet

  • Fruits and vegetables- Include different and colourful fruits and vegetables in your diet. They contain antioxidants, which protect brain cells from damage.

  • Omega-3 fatty acids – Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish, flax seeds and walnuts help keep brain cells healthy.
  • Eat less saturated and trans fats – Include food items rich in saturated and trans fats in your diet in minimal quantities, as these can be harmful for brain health.
