With the aim of stimulating innovation in the fast-developing domain of quantum technologies, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has launched India's first dedicated Quantum Computing Research Lab. Which in the course of is looking to connect up students, researchers and people centered in artificial intelligence (AI), quantum mechanics and computer science to probe using quantum computing for functions in cryptography, communication and material science. The initiative will put India at the frontiers of quantum research in the world, leading to innovation in sectors like cybersecurity and advanced computing. Research collaboration with international institutions and industry leaders will be based in the lab.
