Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala's first and only BJP Lok Sabha member Suresh Gopi on Tuesday said he is a UKG student and needs to study both his ministries in detail before chalking out a concrete roadmap for the way forward. He has been appointed Minister of State (MoS) and given two portfolios in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Ministry of Tourism.
After taking charge, Gopi said, "As far as these ministers are concerned, I am a UKG student. Please give me some time to study both the ministers." Suresh Gopi was wearing a typical Kerala dhoti on this occasion and was welcomed by his senior minister Hardeep Singh Puri in the ministry.
'I will study my ministries in detail'
The new minister said, "I will study my ministries in detail and with the help of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and my senior minister, we will prepare a concrete roadmap so that both the ministries can move forward with a proper vision." He also thanked the people of Thrissur after assuming charge. He said that officials of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas have told him that there are oil reserves in Kollam, the hometown of the new minister.
