The festival of Govardhan Puja is considered very auspicious. It comes after Diwali. According to the Vedic calendar, this year Diwali will be celebrated on October 31. At the same time, Govardhan Puja is being celebrated on Saturday, November 2 i.e. today. On this auspicious day (Govardhan Puja 2024), people make pictures of Lord Krishna and Govardhan mountain with cow dung and whole grains in their homes and worship them. Along with this, cow mother is also worshipped on this occasion.

It is believed that bathing cow, feeding green fodder and chanting her 108 names on this day is extremely beneficial. This brings blessings of Lord Krishna . Along with cow, Goddess Lakshmi becomes happy and provides food and wealth.
